Pro Comedians™ started out in 1992 as a small entertainment agency in Madison, WI called Starlight Entertainment. (A very sexy name if ever there was.)

Co-founders Gina Krupsky and Mike Mercury booked bands, DJs, and string quartets primarily for weddings, as well as comedians for company parties and other special events. Gina (a musician) and Mike (a comedian) eventually decided to split up to allow them to focus on their performance careers.

About the same time, a guy named Al Gore invented the Internet, and that changed everything. As the Internet caught on, finding and connecting with businesses and people became much easier than ever before. And when it reached critical mass, connecting with the right businesses and people became fraught with peril.

So we evolved into Pro Comedians to provide event planners, committee members and other entertainment buyers a trusted, reliable resource for booking professional comedians with the talent, experience and material required by their more-discerning audiences.

Twenty-plus years later, we’re a still-growing business serving clients in over 40 states from our home office in Madison, WI. We like to think of ourselves as a lean machine with a small in-house staff and a network of account reps, marketers, tech support and professional comedians located all over the U.S.
